Yes, I did finish Metamorphosis by Kafka. I was in Prague in 2019, before COVID, and was ashamed to admit I’d never read any of his works. Now I have remedied that. Metamorphosis and Other Stories

I finally finished. I read Wide Sargasso Sea. https://hopewellslibraryoflife.wordpress.com/2021/06/21/classics-club-spin-26-review-wide-sargasso-sea-by-jean-rhys/

I am still going with The History of Tom Jones, a Foundling, but will finish in the next couple of days. I was stymied by unexpectedly having my elderly mother staying for 3 weeks, which severely curtailed my reading, and it was difficult to get back into this book after the interruption, and after reading several other books in between due to book club requirements. Despite all that, I have enjoyed the writing and the story very much.

I finished late, but my review will finally be up next week. That is in no way a reflection on the wonderful book!

Yes, I finished my book: the classic adventure The Lost World by Arthur Conan Doyle and I loved it! However I’m afraid I haven’t posted my review yet – it will probably be up next week though! 😃

I read The Mill on the Floss, I’m counting it as finished, because I consciously chose not to finish the last few chapters which I could easily have finished, not a time thing (which since they were legion, is not a significant portion of the book) as opposed to chucking my Kindle against the wall which about sums up my feelings. I think I submitted my review for the review list

I did, thank you for the encouragement of a spin! Nathaniel Hawthorne, The House of the Seven Gables, not the best book I’ve ever read but at least I get to tick it off the list: https://justreadingabook.wordpress.com/2021/05/30/the-house-of-the-seven-gables/

I may have skimmed some near the end but I read MOST of The Three Musketeers AND watched the 1973 movie. YAY!

Yes, I finished it. I received The Master and Margarita by Mikhail Bulgakov and enjoyed it. A tough read but it’s totally worth it.
Thanks for this fun idea to get everyone to read more classics.

That is a great book! It does take effort from the reader though. Congratulations!

Thanks, Mary. Yes, it takes some effort but aren’t those the greatest books?

I did, but Laura by George Sand was one the weirdest little books I’ve ever read – insights appreciated 🙂

Yeah, I finished Hard Times 4 Stars, but not quite typical Dickens.

I did not. Unfortunately, I had a serious illness in May and it threw my whole reading trajectory off. I’ll try again next time. Congrats to those who did finish. 🙂

An excellent review, i’faith! I wish I still had my early 20th-century slim hardback as I’d barely started it before it disappeared.

I’m still reading it – Little Dorrit is so long at 747 pages and I left it too long to start it to finish by today. I will finish it, though!

Yes, I surprised myself by not only reading but reviewing a collection of Edith Nesbit’s ghost stories — The Power of Darkness — the last of which was published just a year before her death in 1924: https://wp.me/s2oNj1-pod

The Railway Children was one of my favourite childhood classics. I never knew she also wrote adult stories – and scary ones at that!
