What is Coming This Fall?

It’s a time of a pandemic. There are not a lot of events going on in the world this fall. The usual fall festivals and book fairs are postponed or have been placed online. (Take a look here for a list of online book festivals.)

But there are some wonderful online book events that are planned for the fall. Here are a few upcoming events you might want to join.

September-October 2020

r.i.p.-xvIt’s time for the fifteenth annual Readers Imbibing Peril Challenge, running from September 1 to October 31. The purpose of the R.I.P. challenge is to read books that could be classified as Mystery. Suspense. Thriller. Dark Fantasy. Gothic. Horror. Supernatural. Basically, read scary. How do you play? Tag @PerilReaders and #ripxv in your Twitter and/or Instagram posts. Easy. Wicked easy. For more information, check this Twitter post.

LOTR Readalong

Join Heidi at Literary Adventures Along the Brandywine for a Lord of the Rings Readalong. You can readalong with any edition of the book as long as it is unabridged. Audio listeners are welcome, too. The readalong begins on September 28th. For more information, take a look at Heidi’s post here.

Tolkien Party 2020 Barrels

If you are joining in for the Lord of the Rings Readalong or even if you are not, you might like to experience A Tolkien Blog Party. The party will take place September 20-26 at The Edge of the Precipice. For more information, take a look here.

What else? Nonfiction November? Dickens in December?

Do you know of any other events that might be of interest to Classics Club members?

  1. I am doing RIP (I hope to finish at least 1 book and review it next week) and I will probably join in for the Tolkien blog party. I’m also doing Victober and I think I will be reading Vanity Fair.
