  1. I’ve read a few more recent postcolonial works such as Half of a Yellow Sun and Midnight’s Children, but they’re not old enough to be considered classic. (Yet. I’m pretty sure both of those are strong contenders.) It’s surprising, looking into it, how recently a lot of countries were still colonies.
