Hi clubbers!! We’re excited to be posting our March meme question for the club!
Here’s the question this month:
Do you love Jane Austen or want to “dig her up and beat her over the skull with her own shin-bone”? (Phrase borrowed from Mark Twain).
- Why? (for either answer)?
- Favorite and/or least favorite Austen novel?
Feel free to answer over at your blog any time in March, and leave the link to your post in the Mister Linky widget below.
(Answers can be as thorough or brief as you like, but let’s share and connect, eh?)
Remember to check out this page for details! And then check out one another’s posts! 🙂

Gotta love Jane!

I must confess. I have not read Austen. I’ve seen some of the t.v adaptations, and can’t wait to read them all this summer. That’s the plan anyway.

Like Laura I thought I had nothing more to say about my Austen love until events of the past week proved otherwise 🙂

I still have to read more of her works to decide whether I love or hate Jane Austen, and meanwhile here is my thoughts: https://surgabukuku.wordpress.com/2013/03/11/jane-austen-love-her-or-hate-her/

I wrote about this two years ago, and thought I had nothing more to say. But just after this meme was published, I had a lovely Austenish experience at the Philadelphia Flower Show so I wove that into this month’s meme:

Well, I host an Austen in August event – is it to torture myself, or to pay homage to one of the best? Come find out. 😉

I’m hanging in the middle between absolutely loving and absolutely dreading Jane’s novels. I love “Pride and Prejudice” but have a couple that I wasn’t too impressed with. But her stories are wonderful nonetheless.

I love her – but this is a great question and I look forward to everyone else’s thoughts.

Fallacy of false dichotomy! In other words, I have mixed feelings. 🙂

Wow, I actually just wrote about this very topic a few days ago! For me, neither: I don’t love her, and I don’t despise her either, certainly wouldn’t desecrate her grave!! Here are my thoughts on why: http://wxroz.wordpress.com/2013/02/27/thoughts-on-jane-austen/. For my favorite Austen novel, it’s a toss up between Persuasion and Emma. My least favorite Austen novel is Sense & Sensibility (I didn’t really like any of the characters, and I just found it boring).

Persuasion and Emma are the very two that I’m saving for my Austen in August event later this year! After that, I’ll have read all of Austen. Very exciting!
