The Classics Club Readathon Ending Post.

Classics Club Readathon January 2013Hey Clubbers! Allie again to bring the first-ever Classics Club Readathon to a close.

I hope you had a great time (I did), and that you made a lot of progress with your Classics Club list. I’m looking forward to seeing what everyone read during the event! Please let us know in the comments what you read!

We’d also love it if you filled out our ending questionnaire. It’s a good way to wrap up our event, and get some feedback for future readathons here on the main blog. You can either answer it in the comments, or fill it out in a post on your blog and link it through Mister Linky.

  1. What book(s) did you read during the event?
  2. What book(s) did you finish?
  3. What did you like about our event?
  4. Do you have suggestions for future Readathons through The Classics Club?
  5. Would you participate in future Readathons?

Thanks for participating! I hope you had a great time!

Do you have suggestions for future Readathons through The Classics Club? I like the idea of an entire weekend making it easier to work around other obligations.
Would you participate in future Readathons? Yes, certainly.

Even though I managed to get the book read for the event, it took me more than a month to get around making a post about it. http://bit.ly/XgWaP3

  3. I enjoyed it very much, and would definitely participate again. I didn’t finish any books, but I made serious progress on one that was one my list, and I had a great day. I think it’s fun to read other people’s blog posts–it’s not always something I have time to do, and the readathon is a good opportunity to see what other people are reading and writing. I think it would be helpful if everyone put a link up–if people put their link in the comments, I didn’t necessarily get to their site. It was faster to click through the links.

  4. Thanks for hosting.
I read Picnic at Hanging Rock and Rebecca and finished both.
I enjoyed the group participation and visiting other blogs.
Overall I loved the morning but the continuous reading was too hard on my eyes so I don’t think readathons are for me, unfortunately.

  5. Thanks for hosting the event! I had a blast and I can’t wait for the next one.

    1. What book(s) did you read during the event? Les Misérables and Gone With the Wind. Sadly, I fell asleep before I could get to The Divine Comedy (that’s my story and I’m sticking to it).
    2. What book(s) did you finish? I finished Les Misérables, and cried accordingly.
    3. What did you like about our event? The possibility to catch up on my classics reading, especially because it helped me kick 2013 into high gear, reading-wise.
    4. Do you have suggestions for future Readathons through The Classics Club? Not really. I’m not big on the super scheduled sort of readathons with the hourly memes, so I appreciated the freedom and relaxedness of this one.
    5. Would you participate in future Readathons? Without a doubt, yes. 🙂

    2. What book(s) did you finish? Same. After finishing Hugo’s novel I felt so exhausted I couldn’t make myself start another book.
    3. What did you like about our event? It was a great experience! I hope that in the next one I’ll be able to interact more with the rest of its participants.
    4. Do you have suggestions for future Readathons through The Classics Club? It’s the first I’ve ever participated in so… I don’t know. But this one has been great 🙂 (maybe organise something on the GR group? to have more contact with other participants?). Also, as I live in another country, different timezone, I didn’t follow exactly the same timing, but I guess it’s impossible to do something about it!
    5. Would you participate in future Readathons? Definitely, as long as it is during the holidays!
