The Classics Club Readathon Starting Post!

Classics Club Readathon January 2013Welcome Clubbers! Allie here, and I’m excited to be kicking off the first-ever Classics Club Readathon! Hopefully this will turn into a biannual event (with the second readathon in July)!

I hope you are well rested and ready for some classic book action. Make sure you drink plenty of water (not just caffeine) and that you eat something other than gummy bears. 🙂 You’ll thank me later!

I do want to mention that this is a laid-back readathon. There won’t be hourly updates here on the blog, but please come and visit once in awhile. While the goal is to get a jumpstart on some Classics Club books, it is also fun to procrastinate and visit, right? There will be a post at the end of the 24-hours with a wrap up questionnaire, as well as a place for you to tell us what books you finished off your list.

To kick off the event, we have a starting point questionnaire for you to fill out. You can either answer the questions in a comment below, or you can answer them on your blog and submit the link to our Mister Linky widget.

  1. Name and Blog:
  2. Snacks and Beverages of Choice:
  3. Where are you reading from today?
  4. What are your goals for the Readathon?
  5. What book(s) are you planning on reading?
  6. Are you excited?

Have fun!

      1. I’m loving it, so far. Might have to swap my second book (Siddhartha), though, as I hear it’s a pretty heavy read – and I don’t want to be invested in anything slow-moving today.

        1. After seeing the ambitious reading plans of others I was thinking that reading the first chapter of one of the tougher books in my pile might be a good way to end my readathon day. So I am set to keep going. That might be a plan for Siddhartha. I haven’t read it, so I don’t know if it is tough going or not, but it is an absolute favorite book of a friend of mine who is typically partial to pretty approachable books.
